Description
Intergrain PowerPrep removes tannins and oils from new bare timber. PowerPrep allows you to skip the 4-6 week weathering process for new bare timber and coat your deck in one day. PowerPrep also removes old or weathered existing timber finishes.
Surface Prep
Remove surface dirt by sweeping or washing down with water.
Application
- Methods: brush, spray, Applicator
- 1. Remove surface dirt by sweeping or washing down with water.
2. Shake PowerPrep thoroughly.
3. Wet the timber surfaces to be cleaned with water.
4. Apply PowerPrep undiluted to the timber with a stiff bristle brush, broom, or spray. Clean complete sections at one time. Spot cleaning should be avoided to prevent patchy results.
Note: PowerPrep is very slippery. Take care when walking on treated surface.
5. Leave PowerPrep on the timber for 10 15 minutes. If necessary, apply more PowerPrep to keep timber damp throughout this period. Do not allow PowerPrep to dry on the surface.
6. For best results PowerPrep should be applied to cool surfaces, out of direct sunlight, to avoid the cleaner drying on the timber.
7. Scrub the timber vigorously with a stiff broom. Do not use a wire brush.
8. Rinse off exterior surfaces thoroughly using maximum pressure from a garden hose or using a high pressure water cleaner. For best results, a high pressure water cleaner is recommended.
IMPORTANT: Failure to thoroughly remove PowerPrep may result in timber discolouration under clear finishes.
9. If stubborn areas remain, repeat application in those areas as per the instructions above.
10. Allow timber to dry thoroughly before applying further products.
