Moisture Tester Mini – Garden Trend
The moisture tester consists of a meter with a scale from dry to wet connected to a metal probe. Once you place the metal probe into the soil of a plant, the meter is designed to alert the user to the appropriate time to water plants.
Moisture meters are imperative for plant growers who may have problems with true identification of moisture within the soil. The tester is even more suitable for plants who are sensitive to over-watering. Hydration is one of the essential elements to plant health.

Using the Tester:
Push the probe down, as vertically as possible to about two thirds the depth of the container, and about half way between the edge of the pot and the stem of the plant. Please make sure that you do not push the probe of the moisture meter too near the stem. Check the meter and note the watering number.

- Vegetables: 6-8
- Annuals/Biennials: 4-6

Tester care:
When you remove the probe from the soil or compost, wipe it thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth or tissue before taking another test or storing away. Do make sure that you do not leave the moisture tester in soil for longer periods. Always make sure to store it dry.
Good Advice:
Check small pots more often than large ones as they dry out more quickly. Overwatering rots the roots, so do not water too frequently. When out of season, most plants only need water once a week.
