Garden Trend pH Mini Tester
The pH tester from Garden Trend provides accurate readings of the soil conditions. Acidity levels and alkaline levels are in direct correlation to the health of your plant or garden. Below are a few easy attributes that outline the testers capabilities.

Preparation:
The soil sample: Remove the top 5cm of the surface soil. Then break up and crumble the soil underneath to a depth of 12cm. Do make sure you remove any stones or organic debris.
The probe: Lightly shine 10-12cm of the probe carefully avoiding the bullet shaped tip. After using the pH tester, wipe clean using cotton wool or paper tissue.
Taking a pH reading:
- Make sure you do not use in water.
- Push the meter vertically into the moistened soil to a depth of 10-12cm.
- Twist the meter between your finger s several times to ensure that wet soil is well distributed over the surface of the probe.
- Wait for 60 seconds to acclimatise the probe and not the reading.
- If the reading is in the green zone, then remove the probe from the soil and wipe it down before inserting it back in the soil at a different point. You have to wait for 30 seconds before taking the final reading.
- If the reading is in the orange or red zone, then remove the probe from the soil and wipe it down before inserting it back in the soil at a different point. You have to wait for 60 seconds before taking the final reading.
Tester Care:
When you remove the probe from the soil or compost, wipe it thoroughly with a soft dry cloth or tissue before taking another test or storing away. Do not leave the probe in soil for longer periods. Do store the pH tester dry.
